2006 Nissan Altima
The third-generation Nissan Altima orginally released in 2002 returns for another year with the release of the 2006 Nissan Altima. New for the 2006 model year include four new option packages, the 2.5 Special Edition Package, Special Edition Premium Package, Comfort Package and Trip Package. Also standard on all 2006 Nissan Altimas is a factory installed satellite radio with choice of XM or Sirius providers.
The Nissan Altima comes in six models for the 2006 model year, 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SL, 3.5 SE, 3.5 SL and the SE-R. The SE-R model comes with forged 18-inch wheels, aggressive front fascia, rear spoiler, high-flow mufflers, large diameter chrome dual exhaust finishers and black leather-appointed sport seats.
The new options packages for the 2.5 S include the Comfort Package with 8-way power driver' seat, Vehicle Security System (VSS) and cargo net. The Trip Package features a trip computer with outside temperature display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel mounted audio controls, auto on/off headlights, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, sunvisor extensions, speed sensitive volume control and auto up/down front passenger window. The Special Edition Package feaures both the Comfort and Trip Packages and metallic film on the center console and special edition badge. The Special Edition Premium Package includes the Special Edition Package with the addition of power glass sunroof with sunshade and alloy wheels.
A power glass sunroof and DVD-based navigation Package are available for the 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 S with SL Package.
The Sport Package, Sport Plus Package, Leather Package, Leather Sport Package and the Navigation Package return for the 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. The 3.5 SL only offers the Navigation Package with DVD-based navigation system and speed-sensitivie wipers, however.
The 2006 Nissan Altima SE-R offers 5-speed automatic transmission, side air bags and Traction Control System.
Other options for the 2006 model year include side air bags/ABS combination and side air bags/ABS/Traction Control combination.
